Difficulty, Challenge Cards & Endgame Progression

Choose difficulty intelligently, turn challenge cards into reliable rewards and build an endgame loop that improves gear without wasting runs.

Increase difficulty with a purpose

Higher difficulty should test a specific skill, not simply punish the squad. Move up when your team can clear the current tier without burning every healing charge and ultimate. If a run succeeds but every objective becomes a last-second scramble, refine the build before increasing the pressure.

Use the same mission when comparing difficulties. Familiar objectives let you measure enemy health, spawn timing and resource demand instead of confusing a new route with a harder tier.

Challenge cards and risk management

Challenge cards are strongest when their downside matches your squad’s strengths. A card that increases enemy health is manageable for a precision team, while a card that restricts ammo requires disciplined weapon swaps and careful crate timing. Never choose a reward card without reading the failure condition.

Agree on the card before loading in. The player who activates it should announce the main risk and the adjustment: slower pace, more focus fire, a different weapon or a saved ultimate.

Leveling and endgame loadouts

Progression is fastest when every run answers a question. Test a perk, unlock a weapon attachment, learn a boss route or complete a challenge card with a clear objective. Blindly repeating the easiest mission may produce currency, but it teaches less and often leaves the build unprepared for the next difficulty.

Maintain one dependable farming loadout and one experimental loadout. The reliable build protects your progression; the experimental build gives you room to learn without risking every reward run.

A repeatable weekly loop

Start with one warm-up mission, then run the mission that matches your current upgrade goal. Review damage taken and failed revives after each attempt. Finish with a challenge card only when the squad has enough resources to absorb a bad spawn. This loop keeps the endgame focused and prevents random build swapping from becoming the main activity.

Frequently asked questions

When should I increase difficulty?

Increase it when your squad can clear the current tier consistently while retaining at least one defensive resource for the final escalation.

Are challenge cards worth using early?

Use them when the team understands the mission and can explain how the card changes positioning, ammo or target priority.
