Learn the telegraph before the damage window

A boss encounter becomes simpler once the squad separates movement signals from damage signals. Watch the wind-up, identify the safe direction and only then commit to a burst. Shooting through an attack animation often costs more health than the damage is worth.

One player should call the phase change. The rest of the squad can then reload, reposition and select the correct target without overlapping instructions.

Adds are part of the mechanic

Small enemies are not optional background pressure. They close escape routes, interrupt revives and make a vulnerability window unusable. Clear the adds that remove movement first, then return to the boss when the arena is readable.

  • Keep the boss visible to at least one player at all times.
  • Use burst damage only after the attack recovery begins.
  • Rotate around cover together instead of splitting the arena.
  • Prioritize adds that block the next safe route.

Finish the fight cleanly

At low health, bosses often feel more dangerous because the squad starts chasing the final bar. Keep the original formation, reload before the final phase and preserve a defensive ability for the last spawn. A controlled finish is more valuable than a fast wipe.

Frequently asked questions

When should I damage the boss?

Attack during its recovery or vulnerability animation after the squad has confirmed a safe retreat route.

Why do we lose after the boss is nearly dead?

Teams often split or spend every defensive tool too early. Keep formation and reserve one answer for the final adds.
