Weapons, Attachments & Best Loadouts Explained

Understand weapon roles, breakpoints, recoil and attachment trade-offs so your loadout performs in real waves instead of only on paper.

How to read a weapon

A weapon is more than its damage number. Evaluate practical damage per second, magazine size, reload time, recoil, weak-point accuracy and how quickly it can change targets. A high-damage rifle that misses moving heads may underperform a stable rifle during a swarm.

Match the weapon to the lane you expect to hold. Shotguns excel when the team can control a doorway, rifles are dependable across most rooms, and precision weapons are strongest when another player is handling the close-range pressure.

Attachment priorities

Start with the attachment that fixes the weapon weakness. Add stability to a rifle that wanders, reload speed to a small magazine, and weak-point control to a precision setup. Avoid stacking bonuses that feel good but do not change a meaningful breakpoint.

A good attachment set also considers visibility. If a sight blocks the target during a swarm, its theoretical accuracy is irrelevant. Use the range and reticle you can read quickly in smoke, sparks and emergency lighting.

  • Stability for sustained weak-point fire.
  • Reload speed for small magazines and objective waves.
  • Handling for weapons that must swap after a breach.
  • Range only when the mission gives you long, clean sightlines.

Recommended loadout patterns

The all-rounder loadout pairs a stable primary with a fast sidearm and one crowd-control tool. The breach loadout uses a close-range primary, a secondary for runners and a perk that improves movement after firing. The elite-hunter loadout favors precision damage and a team plan that keeps specials visible long enough to finish them.

Do not make all three players carry the same weapon type. Redundant ranges create dead time when a wave attacks from a distance your squad cannot cover.

When to change your setup

Change a loadout after identifying a repeatable problem: running out of ammo, losing to a special, failing a close hold or missing weak points. Swap the smallest possible part, replay the same mission and compare the result. This keeps your build understandable and makes weapon testing useful.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best weapon overall?

The best weapon is the one that covers your squad’s missing range while letting you consistently hit weak points. A stable rifle is the safest default.

Should I chase maximum damage?

Only if you can maintain accuracy and the squad already has enough control to keep enemies in your sights.
